Christmas Mince Pies #Christmas #Pies

These are the easiest and possibly the most low in cost Christmas Mince Pies you could make. The recipe requires a jar of Safari fruit mincemeat which i found at my local Spar grocery store. The recipe makes about 16 mince pies. And what pleasant little treats those are…home made goodness!

CHRISTMAS MINCE PIES
DESCRIPTION
Delicious, low in cost home made Christmas mince pie treats – you need to do that recipe!
Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 120g butter, reduce into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • Grated zest (1 tablespoon) and juice of one orange (1/three cup)
  • 1 jar Safari fruit mincemeat (454g)
  • Icing sugar for dusting.

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, sift the flour and salt together.
  2. Add the butter and rub into the flour till it seems like breadcrumbs.
  3. Upload the sugar, grated zest and orange juice and blend collectively until the dough comes collectively. Knead the dough right into a ball and cover with cling wrap.
  4. Place the dough inside the fridge for half-hour.
  5. While you’re prepared to roll the dough, set the oven to 180C and spray a muffin tin with Spray and prepare dinner. The muffin/cupcake tin should be a shallow tin. The deep ones will work but in all likelihood not as properly.
  6. Roll out the dough to approximately 2mm in thickness and with a round cookie cutter, reduce the bases out of the dough and region them in the tin, lightly pressing the bases down.
  7. Area a tablespoon of fruit mince in every casing.
  8. Now cut out the tops of the mince pies – the dough may be a bit thinner for this. I used a celebrity shape but you could use a round shape as well. location on pinnacle of the fillings.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or till the pastry has browned well.
  10. Cool within the muffin pan earlier than removing.
  11. Dust with icing sugar and serve!
